Strictly For The Birds

The Yellow Bird Project (YBP) are a Canadian non-profit initiative that collaborates with indie bands to raise money for various charities. They ask bands to contribute a t-shirt design and then they print their design onto t-shirts to sell and raise money for their own charity of choice. So far they've collaborated with Bon Iver, Bloc Party, Magic Numbers, The Shins, The National, Beach House and Devendra Banhart which sounds like the best episode of Top of the Pops ever made.

Their latest collaborators are London acoustic troubadours Dry The River and the newest addition to their collection of band-designed charity t-shirts was revealed in March. The new t-shirt design can be seen here http://www.yellowbirdproject.com/products/dry-the-river and
is available for purchase exclusively from the YBP website (http://www.yellowbirdproject.com/). All profits from the sale of the Dry The River t-shirt are being donated to Asylum Aid, an organiation which provides specialist legal representation and advice to people seeking asylum in the UK.

To support the release of the t-shirt, and promote the rest of the product range, YBP
has produced a four part live video recording session with Dry The River, featuring
some never heard before music. The session was filmed in a London studio, against the background of a full scale papercut art installation, resembling an outdoor forest. A background which gave the sessions their title, the YBP Wilderness Sessions.
Two of the videos can be seen below.
