Snake Bite

Tiny VipersTiny Vipers
From: Seattle, Washington, United States

The year may still be in it's infancy but it's already shaping up to be another year of the electro-pop female. The global success of Lady Gaga , Ladyhawke, Lily Allen, La Roux, Pixie Lott is influencing a generation of female singer songwriters to leap onto the bandwagon like an olympic long jumper on steroids (yes Ellie Goulding I do mean you!).

Thankfully there are some female singer/songwriters who can resist the urge to lay on the synths with a trowel. Check out the amazing Tiny Vipers, the pseudonym of Jesy Fortino. She's like a blast of fresh air through a hazy fog of deodorant spray and there's not a synth in sight, or sound.

Jesy has a distinct style, equal parts Cat Power, Cowboy Junkies and the Velvet Underground. Minimal yet complicated her sound has crossed over from the more conventional pop sound of her Sub Pop debut Hands Across The Void.

In a year when the airwaves are destined to be saturated with the sound of single women and their synths Tiny Vipers offer the perfect antidote.

I don't think that introducing Snake Bite using paralipsis is the best way to do..

Besides there are billions of bands that doesn't use synth. Plus I think there are some acoustic band that are more energetic than this one [IMO].. though I eventually like "On This Side".

Feedback is a gift so thank you for your comments. Let me respond. Firstly it's Tiny Vipers not Snake Bite. Snake Bite is the headline! Secondly I'm not sure that the introduction was in any way ironic. Thirdly I don't recall saying anywhere that Tiny Vipers is the only acoustic artist in the world just that she is a refreshing change from the plethora of synthy female artists clogging up the arteries of the pop charts. Fourthly, despite all of that I'm pleased that you like 'On This Side' I hope that you check out more of Tiny Vipers work.
