Scream 2

Screaming LightScreaming Lights
Genre: Alternative / Rock / Experimental
From: Liverpool, Northwest, United Kingdom

Liverpool’s Screaming Lights (featured on the Devil's blog back in March this year, Blinded By The Lights) new single, 'Volts' has just been released through ANTI and their much awaited, at least in the Devil's abode, debut album is due for release in the Autumn (Fall for the Devil's US readers).

The as yet untitled album, follows in the tradition of great Liverpudlian acts of old sharing a restless sense of psychedelic adventure, out-of-step bloody mindedness and a classic-songwriting nouse that has long seen Liverpool bands marked out as truly unique innovators.

Fusing the scouse psych of The Teardrop Explodes, the pop know-how of The Yachts and The Pale Fountains and the post-punk clatter of the Chameleons from the other end of the M62, Screaming Lights are the closest thing you'll get to a scouse edition of the John Peel show this side of the excellent Perfumed Garden blogsite.

And lead singer Jay Treadell looks even more like the love child of a menage a trois between Julian Cope, Johnny Borrell and Johnny Depp than ever.

I'm really into Screaming Lights at the moment. I was trying to find bands similar to them. I came across this new band also from Liverpool called Sound of Guns, don't know if you've heard of them. I'd really recommend them. Here is their official site-
