Danielle In The Lions Den

Danielle SpencerDanielle
Genre: Pop / Indie
From: Australia

Song writing is at the core of Danielle Spencer’s new album Calling All Magicians. Thirteen stories of observations and experiences, precariously balanced between dark and light.

Danielle’s debut album White Monkey was released through EMI Australia in 2001 to critical approval and radio support shortly after which she put her foot on the brake pedal to spend more time with her family. But the muse remained and she began writing songs on her piano at home in her bedroom; detaching herself from the world outside. These songs were shaped and moulded over time until she had an album worth of songs for her second album
Calling All Magicians.

Looking for someone to produce the album one of her friends suggested the legendary Tony Visconti
( best known for his groundbreaking work with David Bowie in the 70’s and, more recently producer of Morrissey's Ringleader of the Tormentors) so Danielle sent him a four track demo. To Danielle's surprise Visconti loved her demos describing her as a cross between Kate Bush and David Bowie.

The album is scheduled for release in early 2010 with first single
Wish I’d Been Here out in the UK on 12th October but you can take a sneak preview courtesy of the Devil.
