You've Got To Hand It To Them

Giant PawGiant Paw
Genre: Alternative / Experimental / Psychedelic
From: United Kingdom

Giant Paw came to the Devil's attention through the latest issue of Uncut which reviewed there latest opus 'The Stars Are Ours' .

It was an average review but there was something in the name, something in the references mentioned in the review, Panda Bear (could Panda Bear's label Paw Tracks have been an influence on the band's choice of name?) , John Maus and Gang Gang Dance, that intrigued me and prompted me to find out more.

It's kaleidoscopic left field kraut rock beamed in from planet drone that tips it's hat way beyond the stated influences. Part of one track reminds me of It's Immaterial's 'Driving Away From Home (Jim's Tune', another sounds like PIL if Mr Rotten (other wise known as I Can't Believe He's A Sex Pistol following his recent butter advert!) was in touch with his hippy side.

Genesis P Orridge's Gristle might have throbbed but Giant Paw's positively pulses.
