The Legend of Happy Hollow

The Happy HollowsThe Happy Hollows
Genre: Rock / Indie / Experimental
From: Negahdariland, California United States

The Happy Hollows, first featured on the Devil's blog way back in May 2007 (The Happy Hollows) on the day that Liverpool confirmed their place in their second European Champions League final in three years (which they disappointingly went on to lose), have just released their latest single 'Lieutenant'.

Produced by David Newton (founding member of C-86 legends
The Mighty Lemon Drops and producer of The Little Ones) 'Lieutenant' expertly straddles the fence between dissonant rock and art-pop. It sounds like at least three different art rock songs welded together by a heacy handed ship-builder and has been unsurprisingly described as the indie answer to 'Bohemian Rhapsody' high on helium and overdosed on caffeine!

The b-side 'Tambourine' starts off in a much more conventional vein like an early, pre fame, Blondie meeting the Breeders before crashing and burning in a traditional Happy Hollows screamathon.

The single is available online through paypal, from the band's
MySpace site or website. The band are also promising an album sometime this month which is a spot of brightness amongst the winter gloom.
