Lights, Action, Roll 'em

Lanterns on the Lake
Genre: Alternative / Ambient / Pop
From: Newcastle Upon Tyne,
United Kingdom

Moody geordie six piece Lanterns on the Lake, formed out of the ashes of geordie ambient indie popsters Greenspace, have been creating quite a stir in the indie undergrowth with favourable reviews from influential bloggers including mp3 hugger and music mags such as Stool Pigeon.

The Lantern's are perfectly poised somewhere between the haunting glacial soundscapes of Sigur Ros and the languid beauty of Mazzy Star and with singer Hazel Wilde's vulnerable, yearning vocals and a shimmering sound as delicate as a day dream it's easy to see why Lanterns are grabbing the attention of the discerning music lover.

File under promising acts for 2009.
