Houdini Would Be Proud...

Genre: Alternative / Pop
From: Belfast, Northern Ireland United Kingdom

Escape Act
Escape Act, who were featured on the Devil's blog back in August (Break Down The Walls It's An...), have just released their album 'Loosely Based On Fiction' for download from their website Escape Act.com.

The album shows that there's more, much more, to Escape Act than the Undertones fronted by Morrissey of their shared 7" single with Tom McShane. They effortlessly straddle the jangling, punkish new wave of The Undertones and Stiff Little Fingers ('God Says', 'Laid Open' and 'Jupiter Storms') and the more melodic harmonies Irish Americana (Irishcana?) of The Thrills ('Broken Chin' and 'Sullied Behave For The Moon').

While this may sound a little schizophrenic and directionless like they don't know whether they want to be The Clash or The Eagles believe me it works remarkably well.
