The Felt Tips
Genre: Indie / Pop
From: Glasgow, United Kingdom
The Felt Tips are a Glasgow four-piece classic 90's indiepop, true indie not the lads rock that indie seems to have morphed into. They sing songs about relationships, girls, summer days and awkward fumbling sexual encounters (check out the humorous 'Not Tonight' on the bands myspace site).
The Felt Tips are the sound of open windows, kids playing, kites flying and splashing around in paddling pools. The happy sound of distant radios in the park. They're a little too in thrall to Belle & Sebastian and the jangly image rather than the morbidly witty reality of The Smiths to break to far out of their comfy little cult cocoon. However with their frank and honest tales of failed attempts to impress the opposite sex they have enough to separate them from the crowds of other Belle-u-Likes on the twee indie scene.
