Coco Electrik first came to the Devil's attention back in 2007 on an episode of Mary Queen of Shops a series where Mary Portas the self acclaimed 'UK's foremost authorities on retail and brand communication' rescues failing fashion retailers. Not the most usual way of uncovering new and exciting bands and, believe me, not a true indicator of the Devil's normal television watching, but I'll take 'em where I find 'em!

They didn't actually play anything on the programme but they looked so good, they looked like the kinda band that would sound amazing (not always the most reliable way to judge a band I know, but image still plays such a big part in success).

Mystical, profound electro with just the right amount of filthy funk and prickly pop thrown in for good measure. The lazy reference points are Moloko and Goldfrapp but Coco Electrik challenge rather than embrace the mainstream.

So do they sound as good as they look? In this Devil's opinion, better!
