The Antlers hail from Brooklyn New York and are definitely not in any way related to California's Crystal Antlers (who themselves are no relation to Crystal Castles - now this is getting silly!). So now that we've cleared up any potential confusion we can get down to the business in hand, namely alerting the Devil's readers to the wonders of the interesting but in no way horny Antlers.

The band are essentially a collection of satellites gravitating around planet Peter Silberman, the Antlers leader . Peter has a penchant for Arcade Fire ('Two'), shoegazing (check out the cover of MBV's 'When You Sleep'), ambient chilled out 4AD dream pop (the first 30 seconds of 'The Universe Is Going To Catch You' and the last 50 seconds of 'Two' which recalls This Mortal Coil's 'Blood' album) and Swedish pop (the Peter, Bjorn & John like 'The Universe Is Going To Catch You' ). Talk about eclectic. Mr Silberman has written the book, got the t-shirt, married and had eclectic's children!

Whilst all this may sound like a band in search of an identity believe me it's not. It's a band quietly binning the concept of genre and just producing music they like and hope others will appreciate.

The Antlers have just started their first ever tour where they'll be previewing tracks from their next album 'Hospice' which is expected to be released sometime in 2009.
