Pucker Up...
I googled (well Yahooed actually) Birmingham (that's Alabama, US not Midlands UK) band Kiss Me At The Gate just to see what other bloggers are saying about the band and found, to my surprise, that there's not that much out there in the blogosphere.
So I checked out their myspace site and their website for a little more background and again drew a blank, apart from the less than exciting and rather dated news that the band began recording in the summer of 2004 and that their record label is Superphonic Records.
Undaunted and being a diligent soul dedicated to providing the Devil's readers with as much info as possible on new and interesting bands I tripped over to the Superphonic Records site to find out more. Unfortunately the band aren't even listed as one of the artists on the Superphonic Records site, although they are listed as one of the labels top 12 friends. I've also heard on the grapevine that their album 'Tapes & Scissors' is due out on the label on 21st October so I'm sure the band's bio will be on the site any day now.
So without any background to the band all that I can really do is tell you that their sweet, loud indie rock is a neat blend of the heavier side of Juliana Hatfield (is it just me or does she look more and more like Belinda Carlisle with every passing year?), the eclectic pop of Rilo Kiley and the elliptical pop of The Breeders.
