Race For Tibet

Olympics
The olympics in Beijing have been a huge, and unprecedented in the modern age, success for British athletes. Winning 19 gold medals and finishing fourth in the medals table significantly exceeded expectations and gives the UK hope for the 2012 olympics in London.

The Beijing olympics will be remembered for many things the amazing record breaking performance of Bolt, the 8 gold medals of Phelps, the incredible cycling of Chris Hoy and the bravery of Shanaze Reade, the endurance of Kenenisa Bekele, the GB coxless four powering their way to gold.

I'll also remember it for the sinister replacement of the child singer and the use of computers to simulate fireworks at the opening of the games, the controversy of Phelps gold medal in the 100m butterfly (check out
Did Phelps Win?) and the controversy of the 'underage' Chinese gymnasts. But most of all I'll remember it for the way the world conveniently turned a blind eye to the issue of Tibet.

Don't turn a blind eye visit
Save Tibet.
