With their chiming Byrdsian guitars and Merseyesque back-beat as fashionable as a pair of limited edition Manolo Blahniks Reading band Beggars are on their way out of the gutter and heading for the stars.

The youthful foursome (average age 20) formed a little over eighteen months ago and freshly signed to Edwyn Collins' label Heavenly Recordings have a fine line in rabble rousing Oasis anthems and La's melodies together with the gang appeal of the early The Rolling Stones.

They have a limited edition 7" single out now, a furiously intense cover of the Leonard Cohen track 'The Future', which is but the first step in their Oasis like strides to world domination. These Beggars can and will be choosers.
