Some more short sharp introductions to and stuff from great bands and artists from the Devil's inbox...

Genre: Alternative / Progressive / Rock
From: Raleigh, North Carolina United States

Sunfold first appeared on the Devil's blog back at the end of March this year (As Regular As Clockwork) courtesy of their split EP with alter ego Annuals. They are essentially the same band but with subtly different sounds. When performing Adam Baker's songs they're Annuals when fronted by Kenny Florence they're Sunfold. Talk about hedging your bets, the most obvious case of having your cake and eating it since Marie Antoinette placed her head on the guillotine.

Where Annuals approach their music with subtlety and streaks of quirky eccentricity Sunfold ditch the quirk opting for a more straightforward pop sound wrapped up neatly in a lush blanket of ambient acoustics.

What Laura Says Thinks And Feelswhat laura says thinks and feels
Genre: Indie / Roots Music
From: Tempe, Arizona United States

Another band featured on the Devil's blog back in March this year, what laura says thinks and feels (Short Cuts), will be releasing their new album, 'Thinks and Feels' on Annuals' label Terpsikhore in August.

wlstaf's multi layered intelligent pop recalls the heyday of creative pop music that was progressive, popular and experimental, a time when The Beach Boys and The Beatles were topping the charts with music that pushed the boundaries.

Flying Foxes
And finally a band who have not appeared on the Devil's blog before and aren't signed to Terpsikhore, Flying Foxes! Even though they hail from Australia, they're as English as The Kinks and The Jam with a whimsical streak as wide as the Thames that recalls Jonathan Richman & The Modern Lovers or the idiosyncratic English post punkers The Monochrome Set.
