Splitting Atoms With...
The Atomica Project
Genre: Trip Hop / Electronica
From: Chicago
The Atomica Project is a coalition of trippy beats and staggeringly beautiful female vocals that dares you to make comparison's with Portishead, Lamb and drum 'n bass era Everything But The Girl.
It's not quite that simple though. Scratch the surface and you'll find that songcrafter Wade Alin and vocalist Lauren Cheatham are more than the sum of their trip hop noir chic influences. Lauren is an exotic mix of torch singer, R&B siren, and acoustic singer/songwriter that owes as much to the shiveringly sparse confessionals of Joni Mitchell and Beth Orton as to their trip hop peers.
Emotional and lushly textured the absolute, unadulterated pure and glorious beauty of The Atomica Project's music takes your breath away. The band are about to drop their eaerly awaited sophomore album 'Grayscale' in a few weeks and I can't wait to hear it.
The Atomica Project - intimately personal music created by music lovers for lovers of music.
