It's For Charidee

Sandy Fyfe, Perth accountant and, more impressively, founder member of the mistifyingly obscure Scots C86esque bands The Electric Sugar Children, Pure and Greenheart, has put together an Alan McGee sanctioned charity compilation, 'Doing It For The Kids 2008', inspired by the legendary 16-tracks-for-99p Creation compilation that featured the likes of Primal Scream, The House of Love, My Bloody Valentine and The Times.

The album, with it's three sections entitled ‘Hope’, ‘Health’ and ‘Happiness’, is a more than worthy successor to the Creation compilation with little-known unsigned acts rubbing shoulders with the likes of leading UK troubadour Ed Harcourt, hotly-tipped Scots pop/ rock outfit Crash My Model Car and exclusive brand new songs from the The New Royal Family and Luxembourg!

Among those involved in the project are
Jim Jasmine, a contributor to the original low-price record with his band Jasmine Minks, and Alex Lowe, leader of The Garage Flowers and formerly the frontman with late-‘90s Creation signings Hurricane #1.

Other well-known names included on the album include The Coal Porters, Popup, Kim Edgar and Roddy Hart, veteran folk rockers The River Detectives and former Times eccentric Ed Ball.

The treble CD will be limited to 266 copies, each of which will be individually auctioned for Yorkhill Children's Hospital in Glasgow.

For those of you too strapped to cash to risk the auction the whole thing is available NOW for download for the incredibly low price of £6.49 (all proceeds to charity again) from: http://www.resonancestore.com/yorkhillproject/
