Mix together one part swagger, two parts guitar, several pounds of pop sensibility and one well worn corduroy blazer (you know, the kind with elbow patches) and you've got yourself The Box Social, a young, loud, snotty rock 'n' roll band from Madison. Formed in 2001 by high school sophomores Nick Junkunc and Brian Peoplis, the Box Social signed to Milwaukee label No Karma after a couple of self released EPs.
Too loud for power pop, too indie for hard rock, too pop for punk The Box Social sound like the result of a mad scientists experiment to create the perfect pop punk band from the DNA of The Dead Boys, Superchunk, The Poster Children and The Posies.
