The Brute Chorus Debut

Chateau b/w The Cuckoo & Stolen Heart

The Brute Chorus
Sounding like a curious hybrid of The Zutons, Captain Beefheart and Frank Zappa The Brute Chorus' debut single is in a genre of it's own. With it's intelligent lyrics, a stomping tune that sounds like it's been dragged from Virginia's Great Dismal Swamp all topped of with the weather beaten Nick Cave like growl of James Steel , ‘Chateau’ is a scary little ditty kinda like Little Red Riding Hood written by Wes Craven and is the freshest, most exciting debut since The Coral 'Skeleton Key'.

In a UK music scene full of non descript interchangeable bands playing mind numbingly indistinguishable indie it's great to hear a band with the courage to forge their own identity and serve up a cocktail of breathtaking swamp rock that sounds three steps removed from the usual tepid sludge.

We played with these guys a few weeks about at 229 in London and they were entirely unappreciated by the indie locals - it's great to see someone giving them the recognition they deserve!
