The Wintermitts

The WintermittsThe Wintermitts
Genre: Indie / Experimental
From: Vancouver, BC Canada

Taking their name from a Julie Doiron song the Wintermitts are a bunch of off the wall, self confessed A.D.D. suffering, Canadians. Fronted by multi-lingual chanteuse Lise Monique the enigmatic Wintermitts strive to create thoughtful, unpredictable and unpretentious music which they proceed to smother in the plaintive droning of a squeezebox, an instrument that's been underused in modern pop music (probably for a reason!). Somehow though they make you wonder why all bands don't have an obligatory accordion player. Imagine if you can Keren Ann throwing an accordion at Beth Gibbons and your within touching distance of the Wintermitts sound and amazingly it works.
