Let me make it clear before I start, Teddy's Cheer Club are not the US equivalent of the UK's Tufty Club or a weekly comedy spot in downtown New York. They are an LA based visceral noise pop (I'm desperately trying to avoid the use of the term shoegazers, damn I've said it now!) band. Like their forefathers The Pixies and My Bloody Valentine before them, Teddy's Cheer Club serve up an intense viscerous wall of guitars over which they pour an oil slick of honey coated, duelling male/female vocals.

The band have a track on their myspace site called 'Cigarettes and Alcohol' which I was kinda hoping would be a sweetly atmospheric shoegazy take on the Oasis laddish Status Quo pastiche.

Sadly it wasn't to be but maybe somewhere out there in the real world I'm sure there's a shoegazing influenced band prepared to make the Devil's dream come true.
