The Frontier Brothers Boldly Going Where No Bands Gone Before

The Frontier Brothers
Genre: Indie
From: Austin & Fort Worth, Texas United States via outer space

Their name suggests alt country, they claim to have been born in outer space and yet play music that sounds like it was minted in a garage round the corner from a drugstore. The Frontier Brothers are a mass of contradictions who, from the initial pulsating beat looping beneath 'Jump Blues' to the joyous geekish ode to the sexual shenanigans with mechanical humanoids of 'Technicalelectronicsupersonicrobot' (both available for download from here) The Frontier Brothers (who don't all appear to be related) demand your attention. Lead singer, the improbably named Marshall Galactic (I bet the christening was a scream) has the raspy voice of a rebel leader that turns every song into an excuse for a party.

The Frontier Brothers concoct a life affirming psych pop stew that boils over with the swagger of The Strokes, the sonic madness of Ween, the left field indie of British Sea Power, and anthems that The Killers would kill (did you see what I did there)for. The last time I recall being so excited by a band was when I first heard The Killer's Mr Brightside and we all know what happened next. This is a band that has the stamp of stardom and the whiff of success, don't forget you read about them first on the Devil's blog.
