It's catch up time for the Devil. Over the past few days various bits of interesting infomation has found itself lodged in the old inbox and tonights post is an attempt to purge my inbox.
First up news of an appearance by an old friend of the Devil on VBS...
These New PuritansGenre: Live Electronics / Big Beat / Shoegaze
From: Southend, United Kingdom
VBS recently sent out Jamie Hodgson to "quaint" (their words not mine!!) Greenwich, England to unearth what sets the "fresh, fashionable, emerging act from England" These New Puritans apart from their fellow London bands.
The lads (and lass) are endearingly shy (which is nice but can, apparently, stop you from doing all the things in life you'd like to) when asked about the music they provided for a Dior fashion show, and when asked about upcoming plans, but who really cares about shyness when their performance was in one word, awesome. In the interview they also mention a limited edition (less than 500 copies) one-sided clear vinyl record that sounds like a collectors item that could become a future family heirloom.

Next up news of a new single by a band new to The Devil's blog
They have the sartorial eloquence of The Young Knives after a trip to the local church jumble sale, they sound like the bastard children of The Wedding Present and the Hefner and their name conjures up images of disfunctional familys arguing on daytime TV. well , you'll be glad to know, The Patty Winter Show are about to release their second 7" single as a limited edition white vinyl on Vacuous Pop Recordings, a label previously responsible for unearthing Help She Can't Swim, Cat On Form and Youth Movies Soundtrack. The single is called 'You Are Wrong' and is a blast of art drenched harmonic pop (to paraphrase Time Out) that can be experienced on the bands myspace site.
