Dark Little Rooms is the song writing vehicle of Scott Crowder. From 2001-2005 Crowder and band alternated between writing, recording and playing shows with the likes of StellastarrStellastarr*, French Kicks, Smog & Denali.

For latest album, 'Foolish Beauty', Crowder recorded most of the tracks at his home in Richmond, Virginia, drawing inspiration from other home recordings such as Bruce Springsteen's “Nebraska” and Jeff Buckley's “Sketches For My Sweetheart The Drunk”.

With Crowder's husky, flexible voice and their brooding, moody piano lead glum rock, Dark Little Rooms could be the ultimate in tribute bands as they manage to sound like Coldplay ('In Love and Trouble'), Elbow and Keane, Ocean Rain era Echo and the Bunnymen ('Nothing I Wouldn't Do'), 1990s era U2 ('Didn't I Say I Was Young'), Richard Hawley('Wave Goodbye') and Nick Cave without ever appearing like a mere musical photocopier.

Listening to Dark Little Rooms is like being the parish priest hearing the confessions of the lost, the lonely and the clinically depressed. This is music to listen to alone at night after you've just lost your job, you've drank a couple of bottles of Vodka, your lover has left you for a much younger model, and you put everything on black and it came up red.
